Poets Pickpocket Pens

Poets Pickpocket Pens
a poet might steal pens
from your pocket or your desk
or from the cushions in the couch,
but you can’t blame him for it.
it’s like change for the homeless,
or pills for an addict.
he’ll refuse to cease the search for the proper instrument
with persistence and clever devotion
in order to record the next brilliant verse
that will improve the progression of mankind,
but can’t
because he found a pen
with no ink.
